Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School
Message from the Principal
Welcome to the Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School where we promote and enhance a solid academic foundation for our students to prepare them to become lifelong learners. The theme for our school is “unity through diversity,” and this concept is embraced by students, staff, administration, and the community as it is infused into our daily activities. As one enters the portals of our humble halls, it is evident that our students and staff take pride in the magnificent display of student work representing our focus on academics. Furthermore, the interdisciplinary approach to education is exhibited throughout our building through the myriad of integrated assignments displayed.
The talented and caring faculty at the Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School affords our children the opportunity to experience education in an exciting and meaningful manner. Through the differentiation of instruction, interactive science lab activities, the library media center, and the two Dell Labs, our students are afforded a multitude of opportunities to complement the core subject areas. Additionally, music, art, and the sundry extra curriculum activities allow a well-rounded program for our students.
We are able to meet the challenges of the NY State Assessments by following a rigorous academic curriculum and involving our children in meaningful hands-on tasks. The students at the Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School are thriving thanks to the dedication of our staff, parents, and the continued support of the Freeport Board of Education and Central Administration.
We strive for excellence in all of our endeavors to bring out the best in our children!
